Charles was the son of William and Lendy Chappel Arms. He married Lizzie Butterfield who died giving birth to a son that also died.
Charles married 2nd Rosalie Moore of Washington, DC. They were the parents of Alice (1884), Abbie (1886), Blanche, and Harold Chase (1896-1931) Arms.
Charles remained on the home farm until the death of his father. The farm was sold out of the family. Charles became a carpenter and moved to E Highgate, VT.
