James A. Huffman, 69, of Mancelona, passed away on June 3, 2013 at Munson Medical Center. James was born on December 4, 1943, in Grand Rapids, the son of Dennis and Blossom (Berry) Huffman. James was a lifelong resident of Mancelona where he enjoyed bon fires, camping, listening to country music and spending time at the Moose Lodge where he was a member. He had been employed for 17 years at Mancelona Manufacturing and also was employed at Meeder Lumber. On July 22, 1962, in Mancelona, he married Alice M. Markle. Also surviving are 4 children, James Dean Huffman of Texas, Richard (Cheryl) Huffman of Omena, Todd (Connie) Huffman of Spring Lake, Kristina (Dale) Reeves of Bellaire, two brothers Jerry (Sharon) Huffman of Elmira, Bobby Huffman of Alba, a sister Linda (Pete) Hoogerhyde of Alba, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Peggi Huffman, and a brother Junior Huffman. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
