Nellie Bird Houser was born 17 Sep 1898, probably at Bird's Point, Mississippi County, Missouri. Her father was Abraham Thompson Bird, grandson of John Bird (1795-1868), pioneer planter and businessman of Mississippi County, and Ella C Edmondson. She married Oliver M Houser on 12 Aug 1923. O. M. Houser worked in the railroad industry his entire life. Nellie died when she was only 48 years old. Her beautiful granite stone includes a space for her husband Ollie, but he is not buried there.
