Harriet was born to Clement Bradford and Sarah M. Bartlett. She married William Matthews 21 Aug 1859. They had seven children. Howard, John (Lud), Joseph, Kate, Henry (Abe), Nellie Mae and Thomas.

Harriet was a descendant of Governor Wm Bradford and Elder Wm Brewster of the Mayflower.

Harriett Bradford was the daughter of Clement Jordan Bradford and Sarah M Blunt or Blount. Sarah Bartlett was her aunt / sister of Clement Bradford.
