Thomas Eugene Yates, 78, of Washington, IN passed away Wednesday December2, 2020 at Hillside Manor Nursing Home in Washington, IN.

He was born in Shelburn, IN February 13,1942 the son of William E. Yates and Carol H. (Davies) Yates.

Thomas was a member of the Church of Christ in Sullivan, IN, he was an Air Force Veteran, was in Law Enforcement with Sullivan Co. Sheriff Dept, and Crane, was also a Paralegal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Nancy Yates, Billie Bonnie (Hayes) Yates also a brother, Kenny Yates, two sisters, Sherry Webb, and Sandy Critchfield.

Survivors include one son, Timothy Yates of Pennsylvania, two daughters; Jennifer Seagert of Ohio, and Michele Denise Woodward of Indiana, a brother, Gary Yates (Betsy Clouse) of Washington, sister, Ila Lloyd (Jim) of Terre Haute, IN and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00PM Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Dugger Cemetery with Rev. David Cox officiating. There will be Military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera Legion Posts and the Sullivan Co. VFW Post. There will be no visitation arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.
