GORDO | Noreen Puckett Bailey, age 60, of 333 5th Place S.W., Gordo, died Sept 5, 2004, at UAB Medical Center. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Gordo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Etheridge and Rev. Bill Brown officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Burial will follow in the Gordo City Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Lawrence Kirk Bailey, father-in-law, Doyle F. Bailey, and sister-in-law, Peggy B. Nettles.
Survivors include her husband, Larry C. Bailey of Gordo, a son, Chris B. Bailey (DeLane) of Tuscaloosa, a sister, Mary Nell Miller (Phil) of Northport, a brother, James Oliver Puckett, Jr. (Helen) of Huntsville, four grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Bailey, Carleigh Danielle Bailey, John Rogers Bailey, and Wilton James Bailey. Other relatives are mother-in-law, Lorene Bailey of Gordo, an aunt, Rickie Wilson (Bryon) of Parrish, and brother-in-law, Jerre Nettles of Marianna, Fla.
Mrs. Bailey was born July 23, 2944 in Tuscaloosa, to the late James Oliver Puckett, Sr. and Nellie Mae Kirk Puckett. She was member of Gordo First United Methodist church where she served as church secretary. She was also a substitute teacher and well known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers are Ken Bailey, Marlin Homan, Torrey Johnson, Buddy Kirk, Clayburn Driver, Bruce Dyer, Zeke Zeanah and Jimmy Sullivan.
