Linda Sue “Susie” Burgess, 86, of Little Rock, passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 2, 2020. She was born January 19, 1934, to Joseph “J.W.” and Enid Adams, and she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Louis N. Burgess.

She was survived by her sons, Steve Burgess (Kimberlee) and Gregg Burgess (Peter Kaldes); grandchildren, Beth Crawford (Blake), Payton Smith (Josh), Adam Burgess (Sarah), and Shana Bell (Jimmy); great-grandchildren, Claire Crawford, Ruth Crawford, Guinevere Smith, and Christopher Burgess; sister, Carol Jean “Sweet Pea” Thurman; and sister-in-law, Joyce Jones.

She was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church, an active member of the Ben Miller Sunday School Class, and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Women’s Club and Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs. She was also a member of various local Bridge clubs.

Susie was an avid gardener, baker and card player, who could hold her own in any poker room. She loved fishing and occasionally hunting, and she was always looking forward to her next travel adventure. She and her husband, Louis, accumulated one of the largest collections of early American blue and white stoneware in the country, as well as many other antiques.
