Stephen “Steve” Blair left this world on Monday, November 30, 2020 in Alturas. Born in Camp Roberts, California on October 29, 1952, Steve and his family relocated a few times before landing in Alturas, California.

Steve graduated from Modoc High School in 1971. He moved away in his early years and attended various trade schools, but always returned to Modoc. He found there is no place like home. Steve was a true Modoc’er and cowboy at heart. He helped on many ranches around the county. He also made a living as a logger, a gold miner, and butcher. Steve was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family.

Steve was known for being a great friend to many. He often had a pot of coffee hot and ready for his friends to stop by and talk. Steve had strong ties to the Republican party, the Tea party, the Militia and the NRA. Later in life, Steve became a loyal member of the local AA community and relied on his faith to get through hard times.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joan Blair Radkey, his father Woody Blair, and his brother Kelly Blair.

Steve is survived by his daughter Stephenie Blair and her children Kaleb Hill and Ethan Blair; his son Jesse Blair and wife Karlie and their children Hayden, Colton, and Jonah; and his brother Don Blair.

A celebration of life will be held for Steve on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church on Carlos Street in Alturas with a potluck to follow.
