Ms. Beatrice Green Collins was born on December 1, 1941, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Raymond and Mary Green. She attended Peake High School and received her high school diploma in 1959. After graduating high school, Bea worked at the family-owned grocery store until she began her studies at Henderson State College. In 1961, she moved to Los Angeles, California, and married Albert Taylor in 1962. They had two children, Pamela Denise Taylor, and Bryan Keith Taylor. She later married William J. Collins who preceded her in death.

She was a faithful member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church. She spent her time being a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir and was apart of the Red Hat Society. Being the wonderful person she was, she was recognized at the church by receiving a Christian Development Degree, John Schiveley Award, and the Outstanding Teaching Award.

In 1968 Bea was hired by the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk. Over time, her career grew and she became a customer service supervisor, acting postmaster, and accounting supervisor. During her postal career, Bea received certificates of achievement from Santa Ana and Ontario, CA districts. After 35 years of service and earning numerous awards and certificates of achievement, Bea retired in 2002.

In 2003, she attended Los Angeles Trade-Tech College in Los Angeles, CA where she received her Associates Degree in Fashion Design as an honor student. After retiring, Bea moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and then to Las Vegas, Nevada until 2019. On October 22, 2020, Bea made her glorious transition as her family and their pastor praised and worshipped Mommy Bea to the gates of heaven.

Beatrice will be remembered for her love of sewing, playing the piano, eating bluegill and crappie fish, and them slamming kidney beans.

Bea was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister (Mary Lou Hosea), brother (Raymond Green Jr.), grandson (Bryan Keshon Melvin Taylor), nephew (Lawrence House Jr.), and great-niece (Breana House).
