Surviving are her four children, Donna Dick of Monroe, Va., Kenneth Pittman of Duncansville, Anita Ferry of Lumberton, N.C., and Thomas Pittman of Coronado, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol, in 1944.
Betty grew up on her family’s small farm and she attended a one-room schoolhouse close to her home. She graduated from the Morrisons Cove High School in 1936. She was a lifelong member of Leamersville Church of the Brethren.
Betty was a loving wife and mother. She spent some of her later years traveling, including numerous trips to California and Virginia. Betty was a 14-year resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, living independently until age 99. She often said the Lord must have had a reason for keeping her alive so long.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
