Andrew Charles Quinn, 31, was called to his eternal resting place on March 20 following a brief illness. He went to sleep March 19 and never woke up. Although the exact cause of his passing is uncertain, his impact was significant on everyone who knew him.

Andy is the son of Paul Andrew Quinn (Jacqueline Baker) and Cathy Sterling Nelson (Russ Nelson), and brother of Joseph Edward (Joey) Quinn, all of Zanesville. Andy’s lifetime friend Eli Pierce had also been regarded as a family member for the past 20 years. Andy is grandson of Tom & Margaret Quinn and Frank “Ed” & Melanie Sterling. Andy was engaged to be married to Victoria Seman of Columbus.

Andy leaves behind many relatives and friends whom he cared about very much. The family has received an outpouring of well wishes from hundreds of people, many we had never met, sharing their love and appreciation for Andy.

Andy had graduated from Dublin Scioto High School in 2006. He studied business at Franklin University before entering the workforce as a peace officer for The Kroger Company. He was Loss Prevention Specialist at The Kroger Co. He requested assignments in the roughest areas of Columbus because he enjoyed the challenge. Quickly, Andy became Kroger’s top performer.

He had been physically disabled to work since undergoing back surgery recently. He was in process of launching an internet business called “Niner Empire.”

He was a 32 degree Freemason and a member of New England Lodge #4 in Worthington.

Andy had an energy that was felt by anyone in his presence. His outgoing personality, concern for others, quick wit, and ability to make people laugh made him an unforgettable character who brightened the days of everyone he met. Even in the worst of times, Andy could make you laugh. We often quoted one of Andy’s school classmates who once told him, “You're the funniest person in the world!”

Andy shared his father’s love for music. For many years, Andy was known both for his karaoke singing (mostly rap), as well as his DJ services (“DJ Angus”). He was known for his passionate interest in rap artist Eminem.

He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Andy did a lot of living in his 31 years. He was passionate about the things he believed in. It’s that passion for life that we will always remember. His smile lives on as we hold him forever in our hearts and souls.

To celebrate Andy’s life the family received friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where memorial services were held at 3:00 PM, with Fr. Thomas Kumau officiating. Andy will be laid to rest in the family plot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution in Andy’s name may remit to NAMI Six County, c/o Paul Quinn, 957 Forest Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701. Like the entire Quinn Family, Andy was an avid NAMI supporter. NAMI advocates for the mentally ill. An informal gathering followed at 4:30 PM, at The Barn, 1947 Linden Ave, Zanesville, with entertainment provided by family friend Matt Frampton.
