Mrs. Mary Ruth McDowell age 83, of Villa Rica, GA, formerly of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020.
Mrs. McDowell was preceded in death by her parents, William Grady Southerland and Dorothy Maudane; daughter, Jamie Lee McDowell; husband, James William McDowell; brothers, Guy Southerland, John Southerland, and Homer Preston “Buddy” Southerland; granddaughter, Christy Webb.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Sissy McDowell of Villa Rica, and Jay and Lorena McDowell of Sarasota, FL; daughters and son-in-law, Belinda Kay Phillips of Villa Rica, and Mona Lisa and James Webb of Dothan, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Joan Southerland of Chatsworth, Ray and Jennifer Southerland of Dalton, and David and Juanita Southerland of Chatsworth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva Grace and Robert Morris of Appleton, GA, Margie Tate of Chatsworth, Doris Wolf of Wisconsin, Fran and Danny Gibson of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Scotty McDowell, Jason McDowell, Brandon McDowell, Nicole Smith, Blake McDowell, Shena Webb, Carmen Jessica McDowell, Angie Lorene McDowell, Brinsleigh Webb, Gracelyn Rogers; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Ruth McDowell will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
