George Junior was born on Gloy Raymond and Leota Alice (Stapleton) Porter in Omaha, NE.

He was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He met Diana and they were later married on December 22, 1969 in Glenwood, IA. George and Diana made their home and raised their children in Bellevue. George had worked as a machinist at Avaya Communications.
