Ronda Kay Ward, 59, of Oklahoma City, died December 1, 2020. She was born May 4, 1961, the daughter of Ronnie and Karen McKinney, and stepmother Brenda McKinney. She was married to her husband of 31 years, Dicki Ward. Ronda was a dental assistant until her time staying home to raise her three children, Jacob, Lacy and Paige. When her kids were young, she was actively involved in their schooling and church, often heading classroom parties and bible classes. Her most cherished time was spent with her family. She and Dicki loved to travel, visiting baseball parks, going on cruises and spontaneous road trips. She was actively involved with her "Bible Buddies" and loved to create vinyl artwork and stickers for friends and family. Her greatest pride is her five grandchildren, Logan, Sam, Zoey, Rylie and Emerson. She loved to spoil them, sprinkling her "Mimi Magic" on holidays and birthdays. She was a big supporter of Dicki's business ventures, helping to prepare for his gymnastics and bowling events and that her color-blind husband was always packed for business trips in color coordinating clothes.

In May 2019, Ronda was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma/Plasma Cell Leukemia, to which she made the decision to do whatever it takes, no matter the struggle or pain, to fight for her health. She bravely took on hospital stays and chemotherapy treatments, all while maintaining her household and family life. When she was diagnosed with Covid on November 13, 2020, her first concern was that her family would know she was okay. She assured us all not to worry about her and that she would be fine, however her precious body had been busy fighting cancer and it was unable to overcome the virus.

Ronda is survived by her beloved husband, Dicki and their two daughters: Lacy Brown and husband Shaun Brown, and their daughters, Rylie (age 6) and Emerson (age 2); Paige Coffee and husband Nikolas Coffee, and their daughter, Zoey Coffee (age 9); and her two grandsons: Logan Leaverton (age 20) and Samuel Leaverton (age 14). She is also survived by her brother, Greg McKinney and his wife, Autumn, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her so much.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Leaverton, her parents, Ronnie & Karen McKinney, stepmother, Brenda McKinney, in-laws, Steve and Mildred Wargo, and grandparents, Delmer and Ruby Fern Keas.

Ronda meant so much to so many people. She had the biggest laugh, most beautiful smile, and generous loving heart. She was the absolute greatest wife, mother, and Mimi. We take comfort in knowing that her body is whole in heaven, reunited with her son and awaiting her glorious reunion with us all.

A come-and-go viewing will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m., with family present from 2-4 p.m. at Mercer Adams. Funeral services are still pending. We recognize that Covid remains a part of how we must navigate the upcoming days. The funeral home takes every precaution to clean and sanitize, and masks/social distancing are required.
