Obituary of Norma Erika Gonzalez Martinez
Norma Erika Gonzalez Martinez was born on May 2, 1981 in Mexico City. She passed away on November 29, 2020 at the age of 39, at the Providence Health Hospital. She resided in Lexington, South Carolina at the time of her passing.
Norma was a devoted wife and mother. She was a brave and strong minded woman that loved her family and friends, unconditionally. She enjoyed her life to the fullest doing all the things she loved such as traveling, dancing and spending as much time as she could with those she loved. She was proud of who she was and where she came from and brought the best of her Mexican culture.
Norma was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in Columbia, where she dedicated much of her time. Along with her husband, she served and led multiple faith groups.
Norma leaves behind a loving family including her husband, Roberto Vidal Gonzalez; daughters, Valerie Gonzalez, Brenda Gonzalez de Esquivel, and the late Joselyn Gonzalez; son-in-law, Israel, and grandchildren, Franco and Benjamin. She is grieved by her parents, Augustina Martinez Angeles and the late Victor Gonzalez and her in-laws, Hilda Gonzalez Torres and Aurelio Vidal Gonzalez. The love of the Gonzalez Mata family and the Vidal Gonzalez family is with her as well.
Norma also leaves behind a close group of friends who became part of her family.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, South Carolina 29210. Norma’s funeral service will proceed on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church with overflow in the Family Life Center. Burial will follow at Lexington Memorial Gardens, 1772-1782 West Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
