Lawrence Gary Fischer, 75, formerly of Washington, died November 29, 2020 at Longmont, CO.

A private graveside service for the immediate family, will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Washington City Cemetery. Pastor Dan Norwood will officiate.

Gary was born at Odell, Nebraska on June 14, 1945 to Lawrence and Betty (Spitsnogle) Fischer. In 1963, he graduated from Washington High School and earned an associate’s degree in 1966, from Fairbury Junior College.

He was united in marriage to Roberta Cox in 1966 at Haddam. They were blessed with two children, Robb and Deanna. Gary farmed in the Washington area and worked as an insurance crop adjuster. In 2009, they moved to Colorado, where he continued working as an insurance adjuster up until his death.

Gary enjoyed playing cards with friends and spending time with family, especially his granddaughter, Samantha.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and son, Robb Fischer.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta; daughter, Deanna (Kipp) Schoen, Windsor, CO; granddaughter, Samantha; brother, David (Ruth) Fischer; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
