BETHANY, LA - Jason Matthew Godwin, 22, passed away on September 23, 2007. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26th at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Stowell, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.
Jason was born on January 17, 1985 in Shreveport. He was a graduate of Evangel Christian Academy and attended Louisiana Technical College. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Jason had a passion for LSU football and enjoyed playing golf. He was never too busy to play for hours with his nieces and nephew. His eyes and smile that could light up a room will always be remembered and fill our hearts forever. He had a God given ability for anything mechanical, but his goal in life was to become an electrician.
Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Doy Aldridge; paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Godwin; niece, Lexie Godwin; and cousin, Tiffany Watson.
He is survived by his parents, Gene and Janie Godwin; three brothers, Lt. Cary Godwin and wife, Nicole of Ellsworth, Michigan, Chris Godwin and wife, Valerie of Bethany, LA and Tim Godwin of Bethany, LA; special friend, Tiffany Caldwell; maternal grandmother, Katherine Aldridge; two nieces, Haley and Josie Godwin; one nephew, Caleb Godwin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Cary Godwin, Chris Godwin, Tim Godwin, Ben Godwin, Andy Godwin and Chase Bailey.
