James “Jim” Hoover, 90, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020.

He was born March 30, 1930, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Vernon and Dayl (Richards) Hoover. He attended Winfield High school and later went on to study at Kansas State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Jim also served in the United States Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant.

James was employed by B. C. Christopher as a stockbroker. After 21 years of he retired.

Mr. Hoover was a very active in his church community at First Presbyterian Church. He served as a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee for the church. He was a member of the Downtown Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, Arab Temple, and served on the Board of Directors for the Helping Hands Humane Society and Bicycle Club.

James married on July 26, 1958 in Great Bend, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, ; grandchildren ; five great grandsons and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon Hoover.

Cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. The service will be family only in the sanctuary but it will be online live streamed at fpctopeka.org. Inurnment will take place in Great Bend, Kansas at a later date.
