The death of infant Cambyses inspired his father, Aldine Kieffer to write the inspirational song, Grave on the Green Hillside, which has passed into oral tradition. Aldine was a great-grandson of Heinrich Funk, first Mennonite bishop in America. He was a noted poet, composer, musician, editor, publisher and teacher. He wrote many hymns and evangelical songs including Twilight is Stealing, My Mountain Home, and The Old School House. He founded the Ruebush-Kieffer Publishing Co. and produced the publication The Musical Million and Fireside Friend, from 1870-1910.
