Nanette (Nan) Helen Abbott of Faribault, MN, died November 28, 2020, in Eagan, MN, from stomach cancer. Nan chose to write her own obituary:

I was born February 12, 1958 to Earl and Helen (Hall) Abbott in Faribault, MN. I worked for 41 years in the Medical Records department at District One Hospital and after Allina bought the hospital and closed my department, I decided to retire. Several months later I began looking after an elderly aunt which turned out to be pretty much the equivalent of a part-time job and that kept me busy for several years.

I never did anything earth-shattering during my life but I had a lot of fun. I loved nature-type photography, enjoyed any type of project that involved lumber and power tools and loved driving my Camaros. I worked with a great group of people and after our office closed, some of us would get together monthly to keep in touch with each other and share more laughs.

I was preceded in death by my parents. I’m survived by two sisters, Karen (Curt Eidhammer) Abbott of Medelia and Lisa (Bryan) Aune of Eagan, and by my beloved nephew and niece, Scott (Dani) Aune and Kristin Aune and two great-nieces, Izzy and Paige.

I am so grateful to Lisa and Bryan for taking such good care of me in their home for the final months of my life. I am very fortunate; I don't know what I would have done without them.

No visitation will be held. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Northfield, by family, at a later date.
