Roberto Antonio “Robbie” Lopez, 23 of Bloomington passed away at 3:55 AM Sunday November 29, 2020 at Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.

Interment will take place later at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington.

Robbie was born to Roberto and Angela Tabb Lopez on November 12, 1997 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

He is survived by his parents; one brother, Christian and two sisters, Marisa and Isabella all at home. Also surviving are his paternal grandparents, Roberto and Maria Lopez of Cary, Illinois; his maternal grandmother,Marjorie Tabb of Normal and maternal grandfather William (Sue) Tabb of Normal.

Robbie was a 2016 graduate of University High School and a 2020 graduate of Illinois College where he played on the Soccer Team with his brother Christian. He was actively involved in sports and church. He loved competing on the soccer field and always gave it everything he had until the last whistle. He enjoyed making new friends and memories with the Marching Band at UHIGH.

He loved music and playfully singing with his friends and family. Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Co-Ed Service Fraternity, Soccer, and campus friends were all a huge part of his college memories which he valued greatly along with his childhood friends and teammates that never left his side and everyone who supported him in his journey.

Robbie always valued serving the needs of others over himself which can be seen through his volunteer experiences through the church and APO.

He loved engaging with the youth at church and was actively involved in church volunteering in any way he could: from dressing up as Captain America, Missions Trip to minister to at risk youth and the homeless, speaking to the youth, serving as a Camp Counselor for Foster Kids through Royal Family Kids Camp. He was looking forward to dedicating the rest of his life serving GOD in Youth Ministry.

He loved to brighten someone’s day with a smile or great hug because he wanted to bring joy into people’s lives and we will all miss him dearly, but he would want everyone to keep having FAITH OVER FEAR and trusting GOD to the very end because he never walked alone in life.

Robbie was loved by all. He was a leader in everything he did and leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, humor, compassion and the greatest unconditional love for all that we will cherish forever. He will always be our greatest WARRIOR!
