Naomi Vernaud Floyd Rogers, 90, Snyder passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder, Oklahoma. She was born in Warren, Oklahoma to Joseph Clyde and Lucy Earle (McCombs) Biddy on February 28, 1930. She graduated from Blair High School and then went to work as a secretary at the Altus Air Force Base where she was given the moniker “Vern.” While working at the Air Force Base, she met the love of her life, James Luther “J.L.” Floyd. Their first date was a ride in J.L.’s bi-plane. They married on April 18, 1954 at Warren, Oklahoma and shared 47 happy years together until he passed away September 1, 2001. After settling into married life in Snyder, Oklahoma, Vern worked as a teller and secretary for many years at the Bank of the Wichita’s. Vern was also very active in her local church, First Baptist Church of Snyder, including singing in the choir, enjoying Bible study, and assisting with Falls Creek Youth Camp. For several years she organized the musical “Hee-Haw” community fundraiser by writing the script, sewing costumes, and recruiting locals as the actors and musicians. Vern was a special, giving lady, known and loved by all in the community. Later in life Vern discovered a love for dancing and attended many senior citizen community dances, where she met her second husband, Arthur Dalton Rogers. They were married in Snyder on August 12, 2006 and enjoyed traveling the world together until his death on September 10, 2009.
