Lovingly called "Dad" by those who knew him.

Mitchell Walker Sr. passed this life on Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2020. Mitchell was born on September 21, 1921 in Drew Mississippi to Ella Mae Bishop and Grant Walker. Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory, long time companion Ruby BoBo.

Dad was well known in the Danville community. He was well known and had a great sense of humor and was a great story teller and jokester.

Dad worked at the Mississippi Oil Milled but picked cotton most of life. Dad was unable to go to school because he had to pick cotton. His love was working on cars, he was an awesome mechanic.

Dad was born into hard times on the Pepper Plantation where he worked for a nickle a week. He survived The Great Depression and The Great Flood of 1926 where him and his mother nearly perished.

Dad moved to Chicago in 1975 where he lived until he moved to Danville in 2005.

Dad leaves lots of loving memories. Dad will be lovingly and fondly remembered by his sons Grant, Sam, Michael, Joe, Cortez, Demarco. Daughters Ella and Sheila. Daughter in law Twana, Devonda, Sheila, Louise, and Keisha. A special son in law and friend Jessie Worthington. Special stepchildren Wilson King, James King, Larry King, Marie King, Charles King, Irvin, Marry Ann, and Ruby Ann all of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters, three Sons and a granddaughter.

A Graveside Service will be held at Sanhill Cemetery on Friday December 4, 2020 at 11:00 am.
