Robert J. Fischer, 83, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Capital Health Fuld in Trenton.

Born in Trenton, Robert was a lifelong area resident. He was employed for many years in the trucking industry with Phil Liedtka Trucking in Hamilton NJ. After retirement, he went on to a second career of 18 years, driving a school bus for George Dapper, Inc., where he was dedicated to many children including one of his favorites, Matthew. His dedication to the children was apparent in his routine of not missing a single day of service in 18 years. An avid NY Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles fan, he was also an accomplished hunter and sportsman. His most prized possession were his children and grandchildren and he was so proud to be called a husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Son of the late Charles J. and Mary E. Skurla-Fischer; father of the late Jennifer F. Fischer; and brother of the late Gerald Fischer. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Joan Flesch-Fischer. Bob was the loving father of Michele Weiss (Denis), Diane Fischer, Jeffrey Fischer, and Steven and his wife, Kristen Fischer; cherished grandfather of Elise, Tara, Adam, Nicole “Sissy” (Keith) and Garrett; great-grandfather of Carter; special uncle of Eric and Christine Flesch; and lifelong friend to Franklin “Mop” Peterson. He will be remembered forever as “Pop” or “Poppy” to his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows-Saint Anthony Parish, St. Anthony R.C. Church, 626 South Olden Avenue, Trenton, NJ.
