She was born Aug. 2, 1951 in Holden, a daughter of Richard H. and Virginia I. (Pyne) Lavigne. Raised in Shrewsbury, she was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School with the class of 1969. She married her high school sweetheart, Peter Casey, April 24, 1971 in St. Anne’s Church, and had been a lifelong Shrewsbury resident.
Sherry worked for over 14 years at the former Spag’s Supply Co., as well as the former State Mutual Co. in Worcester. Prior to her retirement in 2012, she was the benefits coordinator for the town of Shrewsbury where she worked for over 14 years.
She loved spending time on Cape Cod, either in Sandwich or Falmouth, on the boat, reading a good book, and tending to her gardens with her green thumb.
Her family extends their thanks to the medical staff at Metrowest Homecare & Hospice, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and the Brigham & Women’s Hospital for the wonderful care extended to Sherry and the family.
