Mary enjoyed school and valued getting an education. She graduated from Dominican College with a bachelors degree (in 1966), UW Madison with a masters degree, and Wayne State where she received her PhD. She worked as a writer of History and Culture at Liewelyn Publishers for many years. Mary was very creative; she enjoyed writing, researching art and history, and jewelry appraising.
Mary will be deeply missed by her nephew Joseph W. Devine, niece Jamie Gibby, and sister-in-law Sharon Devine. She is survived by other relatives and many friends. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Virginia, and brother Patrick. At this time, no services have been planned.
