Yolanda Andrea Smith affectionately known as Tree, was born June 19, 1971 to the late Leoler Smith.

She graduated from Robichaud High School in 1990. Starting the next phase of her life she attended NEC Technology, studying Computer Information Systems. She continued her studies at Detroit College of Business. Returning to school to finish her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, she was 15 credits shy of getting her degree.

Yolanda was very goal oriented and worked several jobs before landing the one she was passionate about, starting her career as a Mortgage Consultant Assistant at Citi Mortgage.

She attended Christian Faith Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor John D. Hearn Jr. Yolanda was a part of the clothing ministry, collecting clothes for those in need. Always reaching out to her friends and family to collect items for her ministry. Her very outgoing personality led her to join the Red Hat Society, even though she was not yet 50, she was apart of the Pink and Sassy club. She loved traveling, shopping and making scented lotions and body butter.

Tree had a very big heart. She loved people very hard and went out her way every time to show kindness to her friends and family. She was a loyal and trusted friend to many. No matter how she was feeling you didn't know it, she would push through the pain and always gave you the biggest smile. She lived life to the fullest.

She would put that smile on and enjoyed every bit of her day. She was known for always being a matchmaker. She felt everyone deserve to be happy including herself.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Rachel Howard her aunt/mom, 4 sisters: Gwendolyn Swanigan, Donyell Hankins, Shawntrel Dyress and Karen Williams; 2 brothers: Alexander Fly and James Swanigan Jr.; 2 aunts: Mary Smith and Eliza Lamb; 1 uncle: David Lewis Smith (Artolya); her lovely furry baby, Vivica; and many family and friends. 1 brother Samuel Isabella preceded her in death.
