Mom, Grandma, and Nana had to start a new journey in life. This journey came too soon in her life. Sarah Frances Nelson was born June 1, 1953, at home in Shepherdsville, KY, to the late Geraldine and William Traylor.

The second child of four. Sarah married right after high school and moved to Iowa. From this marriage she had the joy of her life, Julia Brewer and Jim Lundvall Jr. Sarah was a determined woman in life who didn’t like the word “no!” After her first marriage dissolved, Sarah worked 2 to 3 jobs and put herself through college. Sarah graduated from Nebraska College of Business in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked at Creighton University as coordinator of Occupational Therapy. Then at UNMC as a coordinator. Sarah was an avid runner, completing five half-marathons. She enjoyed all forms of exercise. Sarah did not know a stranger, and would help anyone in need. Later in life she started her own business to help others, “Sarah’s Helping Hands.”

Sarah was also in love with the ocean. She met her second husband, Allan Nelson, on a blind date in Hawaii. Sarah’s biggest joy in life were her grandbabies Trevor J. Lundvall, Taylor M. Lundvall, Cole L. Lundvall, Brianna R. Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Jacob D. Brewer and Braydin G. Brewer. They enjoyed sweets at Nana’s all the time, dance parties, singing, shopping, and overnight parties.

Sarah will join in heaven mother Geraldine Traylor, father William Traylor, brother Gary Traylor, and husband Allan C. Nelson.

Family who will always love her are daughter Julia (Chris) Brewer; son Jim (Jennifer) Lundvall Jr.; sister Marilyn Brunson; brother Wayne “Billy” (Shelia) Traylor; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 12 p.m., at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Garner Township Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
