Peggy Ann Butler of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Universal Health Care in Concord following a period of declining health.

Peggy was born April 15, 1934 in Cabarrus County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Mecham and Daisy Brewer Mecham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Butler in 1988, a son, Michael Poole in 2019.

Peggy was in the first graduating class of A.L. Brown High School. She had worked as a secretary for Prudential Life Insurance in Charlotte and later as secretary for Carolina Pizza Hut, Inc.

She was of the Methodist Faith. She enjoyed bowling, reading and knitting.

Family members left to cherish her memory are three daughters; Christel Butler of Kannapolis, Linda Hendrix of Concord, and Cynthia Manahan of Kannapolis. Four grandchildren, five great grandchildren with one on the way, a brother, Buddy Mecham and wife Becky of Salisbury and her beloved poodle Coco.

A graveside Service for Mrs. Butler will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Bobby Seymour. The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside service.
