Deaconess Eunice P. Pierce (93) the daughter of the late Robert and Maybell McGlohon Pierce departed her earthly life on November 25, 2020 at Accordius at Creekside in Ahoskie, NC. Ms. Pierce was a native of Hertford County where she received her formal education in the public schools. She was a member of New Ahoskie Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. Over the years as a dedicated member, she was very active as an usher, Sunday school teacher, as well as being a deaconess and one of the mothers of the church. Deaconess Pierce loved The Lord; starting everyday with a prayer, reading her bible and studying her Sunday school lessons. She was a true prayer warrior.

For over fifty years, Ms. Pierce worked as a pressor for Minton’s Cleaners and then Jernigan’s Cleaners both in Ahoskie, NC.

She loved her family dearly, looking forward to spending time with them and traveling yearly to Myrtle Beach. Her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes. She made an effort to be present at the birth of each one of them. She was a babysitter for generations of children. Ms. Pierce’s hobbies included watching t.v, especially the “Young and Restless”, gardening, traveling and being an avid walker for many years.

Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Walter Douglas Pierce (Marilyn) and Larry Pierce (Linda); two daughters, Jacqueline P. Vann (Marcus - deceased) and Gail P. Hayes (Vincent); daughter in law, Helen Pierce; one sister, Dorothy Webster; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Walter Pierce; two children, Rita Small and Melvin Pierce (Helen).
