Laura Marie Hardy, 46, of North Vernon, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born March 16, 1961, in Madison, the daughter of Dwight E. Richards and Ollie Elizabeth Owens. She was a 1979 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She was a licensed practical nurse and a 2006 graduate of Ivy Tech College with a degree in nursing. She was a member of the Baptist church and enjoyed her family, get togethers and playing bingo.

She is survived by one daughter, Samantha Jo Hardy of North Vernon; one son, Larry Matthew Hardy of North Vernon; her mother, Ollie E. "Polly" Owens Parks of Madison; her father, Dwight E. Richards Sr. of Madison; 10 sisters, Tammy Booth of Madison, Shirley Nash of Hodgenville, Ky., Sonia Brown of Jeffersonville, Susan Parks of Louisville, Ky., Sandra Worthington of Glasgow, Ky., and Julie Campbell, Charla Strausmeier, Nancy Davis, Sheila Kidwell and Sherrill Richards, all of North Vernon; four brothers, Gene Richards Jr., Thomas Richards and Timothy Richards, all of North Vernon, and Steven Parks of Louisville, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Parks; her mother, Myrtle Richards; and one aunt.

The service was Thursday at Vail-Holt Funeral Homes Hilltop Chapel. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery.
