William Herbert Dollins, 79, of Crozet, Virginia died at a local hospital on Tuesday, October 2, 2007.
"Bill" was born April 8, 1928, in Albemarle County, the son of the late Philip Huff Dollins and Bettie Cook Dollens. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred E. Dollens and Jerry T. Dollens.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte W. Dollins; two sons, Ronnie Dollins and his wife, Shawn, of Charlottesville, Virginia, David Dollins and his wife, Doris, of Gordonsville, Virginia; a daughter, Carrie McDaniel and friend, Albert Graves, of Crozet, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Taylor Dollins, Casey and Nicole Dollins, Jerry and Matthew McDaniel, Chas Sandridge, Kendall Price and her husband, Seth; two brothers, Philip H. Dollins and his wife, Edith, and Marvin W. Dollins and his wife, Dottie, of Waynesboro, Virginia; one sister, Ruth D. Chiles and her husband, Henry, of Batesville, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Lois B. Dollens and Eva C. Dollens of Charlottesville, Virginia.
"Bill" retired from Acme Visible Records with 45 years of service. He was a life member of Crozet Volunteer Fire Department and Crozet Sportsman Club, member of Masonic Lodge and VFW of Crozet. He was a Army Veteran in the Korean War. He graduated from Greenwood High School and Jefferson School of Commerce.
Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Crozet Fire Department, P.O. Box 696, Crozet, VA 22932.
Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Anderson Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2007, at the Crozet Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rockgate Cemetery with the Reverend David Collyer and Duane Johnson officiating.
