Louise was a devoted Christian and served the Lord in Central Baptist Church, Gardendale, Alabama where she was a member. She served in the nursery and cooked for the Wednesday night fellowship meal.
She retired from the Jefferson County Health Department where she served as a purchasing agent and there she was highly esteemed by her coworkers. She loved to travel and visited many different places. She was very involved with the Homeowners Association at The Vineyards and made welcome baskets for the new residents in the community. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother and had a special relationship with her grandson, Russell.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Albert E. Owens (1911-1983) and Virgie Newsome Owens (1916-1995); a brother, Edward Owens (1947-2004), and two sisters, Violet Owens Rhodes (1935-2017) and Faye Dockery Stephens (1940-2002).
Louise is survived by her son Mike Gore and his wife, Beth; granddaughter and caregiver, Gabriella "Gabby" Gore and grandson, Russell Gore; nieces and nephews, Anita Henderson (Dave), Danny Rhodes, Dennis Rhodes, and Jerry Rhodes, great niece and nephew, Beth Marquis, Chris Henderson (Celeste), other family members and a host of friends.
A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 with a time of visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the Fireside Room at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel followed by a graveside service at 11:15 am in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
