Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Thompson Esler, widow of James N. Esler, who died in the family home in East Tenth avenue shortly after noon yesterday following a stroke suffered Sunday morning, will be held in the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, Dr. George E. Davies pastor of the Fist Presbyterian church, and Dr. A.F. Walker, an old friend of the family, will be in charge.

A resident of Tarentum since 1882, Mrs. Esler was one of the most widely known and most highly esteemed women. She was a devout Christian and an earnest member of the Fist Presbyterian church.

She was born in Westmoreland county, the daughter of James W. and Sarah Cooper Thompson. At the time of her marriage on November 7, 1882, her family lived at what is now Hawkins Station. Mr. and Mrs. Esler came to Tarentum immediately after their marriage.
Mr. Esler died November 21, 1920.

Mrs. Esler was a charter member of the Tarentum Book Club and was active in all department of the church.

She leaves two sons, Attorney Russell J. Esler, of Tarentum, and Dr. James W. Esler, of Washington, D.C. Two brothers, John Thompson, of Cleveland, Ohio and Dr. William M. Thompson of Winterset, Iowa, survive in addition to four grandchildren.
