Guy Carter, Checotah resident, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 in Checotah, OK at the age of 67. He was born on Monday, May 11, 1953 to Cornelius and Laura Carter, Jr. in Checotah, OK. He graduated from Checotah High School in 1971. He moved to Wichita, KS to go to work. In 1975, he moved back to Checotah, then later moved to Muskogee. In the 90’s he moved back to Checotah because of failing health. Guy loved to listen to music, especially Earth Wind and Fire. He was a very quiet person, loved his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Guy was preceded in death by his parents; his 5 brothers, Herman Woodfork, Harry Lewis, Cornelius Carter, Roy Carter, Marvin Carter; and his niece, Tona Carter. He is lovingly survived by his brother, Terrell Carter of Wichita, KS; his sisters, Angeline Brooks and her husband David of Checotah, and Evelyn Carter of Wichita, KS; his brother, Troy Carter of McAlester, OK; his sister, Lena Carter of Checotah; his daughter, Rinata Brown; and his grandchildren, Kalia Adams, Aalicia Brown, and Davyion Adams all of Topeka, KS. Guy is also survived by his special aunt, Viola Ross of Checotah, and Tracy Scroggins and his wife Michele of Miami, FL as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends.
