Patricia was born March 9, 1943, in New York City to Raymond and Mildred (Forst) Mulligan. She married Eugene C. Akers Jr. on September 16, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendale, NY. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children: Lynn Grainger, Lori (Kevin) Brandt and Eugene R. Akers, her five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, her sister Mildred (Paul) Atzberger and her nieces and nephews.
Pat worked many jobs throughout her life, but she found her passion when she became a residential counselor for Community Health Link where she has worked for the past 21 years. Her faith, positive attitude, acceptance of everyone in their unique situations and humor were key in her work, in her relationships with her colleagues and throughout the community. In 1991 she graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College and continued her studies until she achieved her bachelor's degree from Worcester State University in public health in 2017. Pat enjoyed camping at Moody Beach, Maine, playing dominoes, entertaining family and friends and traveling, especially cruising.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Holden Chapel at 279 Reservoir St. in Holden, MA on February 22nd at 10 AM.
Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon is directing arrangements.
