Joe Araujo, 79, of Baytown, TX, passed away on March 7, 2017. He was born on November 25, 1937 in Baytown, TX, and attended Robert E. Lee High School. He worked as a laborer and custodian and retired from the University of Houston.

Joe enjoyed going to the casinos, he loved all types of gambling, and liked to watch sports. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and regularly prayed his rosary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arcario and Romana Araujo; brothers, Steve, Frank and Ben Araujo; and sister, Henrietta Munoz.

He is survived by his brothers, Albert and Cayo Araujo; sister, Mary Araujo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the health care staff at RHC on N. Main, especially Sandra Thomas and Sophie Battarbee.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Joseph Regional Catholic School, Baytown, TX.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 10:00 am St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina Ave., Baytown, TX. Interment will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX.
