Mrs. Teresa Thompson Williams age 54, a homemaker of Carthage, died at 8:28 p.m. Wednesday evening November 25, 2020 at the Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon where she was admitted October 31st, suffering from lung cancer.

Bro. Jeff Burton officiated at the 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon November 29th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed the service in the Garden of Everlasting Life at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.

Born Teresa Gail Thompson in Carthage on January 30, 1966, she was one of seven children of the late Ben Allen Thompson who died May 4, 2006 at the age of 71 and Hester Fay “Trudy” Cooper Thompson who died February 6, 2018 at the age of 74.

Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ruth Thompson Johnson who died at the age of 55 on July 4, 2019 and a brother Donald Gene (Donnie) Thompson who died as the result of a single car automobile accident on Big Springs Road in Wilson County near the Tuckers Cross Road Community at the age of 26 on March 10, 1989.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Christy Lynn Butler who died at the age of one day old on September 21, 1981 and by a granddaughter, Emma Grace Thompson who died March 16, 2007 at the age of one month.

In Carthage on January 20, 1988 in Carthage she was united in marriage to Hank Charles Williams.

Mrs. Williams was reared in the Bush Hollow in the Maggart Community and the family attended the Maggart United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband of over thirty two years are four children, Marcia Maxwell, Joseph Thompson and wife Alicia, Josh Williams and Jessica Boatwright all of Carthage; two sisters, Shelia Thompson Davis and husband Roger of the Elmwood Community, Jo Ann Thompson Jennings of Lebanon; two brothers, Richard Thompson and wife Melanie of Carthage, Ronnie Thompson and wife Ann Marks Thompson of the Rome Community; nine grandchildren.
