Cecil Sherwood Dixon, age 87 died Tuesday evening at Barbour Court Hospice Unit. Born November 16, 1933 in Johnston County, he was the youngest of eight children to the late Luther (Luke) Dixon and Ella Starling Dixon. He was the widower of his beloved wife of 34 years, Etholea Sutton Dixon. He never remarried often stating that he would never find anyone like her. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Bud, Rudolph, Leon, Billy and sisters Stella Cavanaugh, Hazel Fulford, Mitchell Henry and nieces Linda Capps and Hilda Futch.
