Evansville - Elizabeth Ann Ledbetter, 87 passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from complications due to COVID. Elizabeth was born to Jacob and Mary Hemmerlein on August 30, 1933 in Haysville, Indiana.

Elizabeth had a loving spirit who enjoyed helping others. She willingly provided rides to doctor appointments for those in need and was a part of Gilda's Club to offer support to other cancer survivors. She also lovingly knitted and crocheted prayer shawls, baby booties and hats to lift the spirits of people in need. Elizabeth also loved a good game of Clabber. Most importantly, Elizabeth was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and had a strong faith in God. In recent years she enjoyed her Bible study which lead her to a better understanding of God's word.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years William P. Ledbetter; her parents, sisters Margaret Zehr, Helen Mann, and Viola Pride; brothers Willis, Alfred, and Eugene Hemmerlein.

She is survived by her sons Matthew R. (Lori) Ledbetter, Curtis J. (Lorie) Ledbetter, and her daughter LaDonna M. (Michael) Schmidt. She is also survived by her grandchildren Colton S. (Carissa) Ledbetter, Logan D. (Kate) Ledbetter, and Lauran A. (Derrick) Hahn. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren Carter, Raylan, and Luke Ledbetter; sister Marcella Laughlin and brothers Harold and Amos Hemmerlein.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 9 am to 12 pm. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the family requests that the funeral service be for immediate family only. Arrangements by Sunset Funeral Home. Burial Sunset Cemetery. Published in Courier Press from Nov. 25 to Nov. 27, 2020.
