Emelie D. Tapia of Naples, Fla., died peacefully at her family's home in Saratoga Springs, in the presence of her family on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007.
Born on Jan. 14, 1917, in Ridgewood, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William H. Seebeck and Emilie A. Neebe Seebeck.
Emelie was married to the late Raymond C. Tapia, who died on July 4, 2001.
Mrs. Tapia was very active throughout her life. She was a docent for the Nature Conservancy, a charter member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Naples, Fla., and a member of the choir. She was a member of the Naples Community Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the Philharmonic League, a member of the Naples Music Club, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Saratoga Springs. She was also a founding member of the Harrington Park, N.J., Public Library and a staunch supporter of the Duchess Land Conservancy of Millbrook, N.Y.
She is pre-deceased by a brother, Rev. William J. Seebeck, and a sister in-law, Mary G. Tapia.
