Norma Jean (Jacobs) Harrison was born on May 1, 1925 to Stanberry Jacobs and Jessie June (Johnson) Jacobs in Kaufman County, TX. She was the second youngest of 12 children. She passed away peacefully at the age of 95 in Burleson, TX on Saturday, November 21, 2020 with family at her bedside.

Jean, as she preferred to be called, married James S. Parkey on May 8th, 1942. Together, they had two children – James Michael Parkey, born in 1943, and Katherine Suzanne Parkey (Bordelon), born in 1947. After their divorce in the mid-1950s, Jean married Vernon Lee Harrison in Dallas, TX in 1979 after a long courtship. They remained married until his death. Jean was a long-time member of Oaklawn United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX and thoroughly enjoyed visits from various members of her church family over the years while she was living at home, and afterwards when she moved into a long-term care facility in Burleson, TX when she was 91.

Jean was a retired bookkeeper. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was able to meet her only great, great grandchild on her 95th birthday through the nursing home window during the COVID lockdown. She was fond of bragging on her family and always said she had the best-looking, most well-behaved great-grandchildren. She loved music and some of her favorites were Marty Robbins, Nat King Cole, and most anything from the classical genre.

She is preceded in death by her parents Stanberry and Jessie Jacobs and her 11 siblings: Beulah, Gert, Trude, Lloyd, Opal, Eiland, Noel, Lynn, Wilber, Robby, and Mack, her first husband James S. Parkey (Blum, TX), her second husband Vernon Lee Harrison (Dallas, TX), her son James M. Parkey (Argyle, TX), and her great-grandson, Andy C. Allen (Blum, TX). She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Bordelon and husband Larry (Blum, TX), her grandson Christopher Allen and wife Jennifer (Whitney, TX), her granddaughter Katie (Bordelon) Jewell and husband Brandon (Cleburne, TX), her great-grandchildren: Kaleigh (Allen) Benson and husband Phillip (Aledo, TX), Reagan Allen (Waxahachie, TX), Brendan Allen (Whitney, TX), Gracelyn Allen (Whitney, TX), Paige Feagley (Cleburne, TX), Madeleine Jewell (Cleburne, TX), great, great grandson Walker Benson (Aledo, TX), four nieces, six nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, you instead donate to a local food bank or charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
