Mrs. Jordan was born the daughter of Luther James Caraway and Emmie McClam Caraway on November 24, 1940 in Coward, SC. She was a graduate of J.C. Lynch High School and a 1993 graduate of Costal Carolina University. She was a faithful member of Piney Forest Baptist Church where over the years she served in the women’s ministry and as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Her greatest joy and her life’s dedication was to her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, caring sister, and a loyal friend. Though words could never fully describe all her life, she committed her life to acts of selfless giving, fervent prayer, and an unconditional love.
Joyce and Ray were married on November 27, 1957 and celebrated 62 years together. Their home was blessed with: three children, Joey Jordan (Chong), Jamie Ryan Jordan (Phyllis), and Joni Rae Jordan; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Jessica; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Josiah. She is also leaves behind: two brothers, Gerry Caraway and Dale Caraway (Cyndy); and a sister, Betty Jo Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her parents; two brothers, Harvey Caraway and Donnie Caraway; and two sisters, Carolyn Odom and Patsy Winesett.
A Home Going Celebration will be 11AM, Friday, November 27, 2020 at Piney Forest Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The Jordan family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30AM in the Family Life Center.
Due to Covid-19, the family asks that everyone please practice social distancing and facemasks are required.

Funerals services for Donnie Ray Caraway, a victim of drowning, will be conducted 5 p.m. Monday Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church by Rev. James A. Pierce and Rev. Jesse M. Boyd. Burial, directed by Brockington Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leonard C. Jordan, Peedy Scurry, Bill Crawford, Leon Chirleadea, Eugene Leigh, and Alion Strother.
Mr. Carraway, 24, was born in Florence County, a son of Luther J. and Emmie McClam Caraway. He was a navy Veteran and a member of Tabernacle Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Isgets Caraway; four sisters, Mrs. Colon (Betty) Anderson of Coward, Mrs. Heyward (Caroline) Odom of Darlington, Mrs. Ray (Joyce) Derdan of Andrews and Mrs. Leo (Patsy) Winset of Crete, Greece; and three brothers, Harvey, Jerry and Dale Caraway, all of Coward.
