Obituary for James A. Shaffer Jr.
James A. Shaffer, Jr., 84 of Stoneboro, passed away on November 17, 2020 at Wesbury in Meadville. James was born on April 24, 1936 to the late James A. Shaffer, Sr., and Helen Mae (George) Shaffer. He was a graduate of Mercer High School and went on to proudly serve his Country in the United States Army.

James worked for many years at Reznor in Mercer as a sheerman. In his earlier years he was a member and attended St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church in Stoneboro. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, working around his house, and was an avid runner.

James married his beloved wife, Mary Pauline Ketcham Shaffer on January 25, 1964, she preceded him in death on September 10, 2011.

James is survived by his daughter, Mary Shaffer of Stoneboro, grandchildren; Leonard Podvasnik of Akron, James Podvasnik of Cochranton, and William Podvasnik of Sheakleyville, brother Milo Shaffer of Grove City, and sisters Thelma King of Harrisburg, and Pricilla Milks and husband Chuck of Little Valley, NY.

In addition to his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, William Shaffer.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of Stoneboro.

There will be no public services as per James’ request.

James will be laid to rest next to his wife at Oak Hill Cemetery
