Sarah Elizabeth Stafford Richardson, age 98, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the AHC Crestview Healthcare Center in Brownsville, TN. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Carl White officiating. There is no visitation scheduled for Mrs. Richardson.

She was born on July 2, 1922 to Willie and Bessie Stafford in Tipton County, TN. She was married to S. W. “Dock” Richardson for 64 years. She retired from Wells Lamont Glove Factory where she was a supervisor. She also retired from the Brownsville Baptist Church Day Care Center at the age of 93. She was richly blessed with a loving and caring family. One of the most precious gifts in her life was her love for children. She was a great women of faith and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Brownsville, TN, where she served as the Nursery Director for over 40 years. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting/crocheting, and painting.

She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Tritt (Wayne) of Brownsville, TN and one son, Bobby Richardson (Nyta) of Palatka, FL. She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren, Brad Richardson (Gail) and Scott Richardson, both of Palatka, FL, Stewart Tritt (Sherry) and Libba Ellington (Rad), both of Brownsville, TN; 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband S. W. “Dock” Richardson; her parents, Willie and Bessie Godsey Stafford; one daughter, Joan Richardson; one sister, Pauline Hudgins; two brothers, Clyde Stafford and Billy Stafford.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Richardson service are Evans Ellington, Morris Tritt, Ford Ellington, Tritt Ellington, Thomas Tritt, and David Tritt. Honorary Pallbearers are Emerson Tritt, Will Tritt and Jack Tritt.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested memorials be made to The Carl Perkins Center, 130 Boyd Ave, Brownsville, TN 38012. All Funeral arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
