Donna Sue Simpson was born January 25, 1941 to Earl and Ela Simpson in Oklahoma City, Ok. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1959. She then went on to attend Central State University where she met her future husband John Leroy McClure. They settled in Oklahoma City and raised their two sons, John Kyle and Douglas Blake there. Donna worked for Metro Plex court reporting as a transcriptionist when the boys were little so she could stay at home and raise them. Once the boys got older, she then went to work for Little Giant Pump Company. When it came time to retire, John and Donna settled in Grove, Oklahoma where Donna spent most of her days fishing for crappie. Donna was such an avid fisherman that she set many local records and was sought out by her peers to find out where the hot fishing spots were. Upon John’s untimely passing in June of 2000 Donna then moved to Piedmont, Oklahoma to be closer to her family and most importantly her 3 beautiful grandsons, Easton, Tabor and Pryce. Anyone who knew Donna understood how much she cherished her family. Donna left this world to be reunited with the love of her life John on November 23rd, 2020 after losing her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Donna was greatly loved by many and what we will miss most is her quick wit and wicked sense of humor. The family would like to send a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice for taking such special care of Donna.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Ella Simpson, her husband John McClure and her brother Dean Simpson. She is survived by her son, John K. McClure and wife Misty of Yukon, Oklahoma, her son Blake McClure of Piedmont, Oklahoma and grandsons, Easton, Tabor and Pryce McClure all of Piedmont, Oklahoma and daughter-in-law Courtney McClure of Deer Creek, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2020 at Olympus Cemetery.
