On November 23, 2020 Joe Anthony, 73, of Bayard, W. Va. passed away. Beloved father of Stewart Anthony and wife Staci, daughter, Deena Anthony, grandfather of Laural Harrelson and husband Jon, and Taylor Anthony, and dear friend of Laura Rhoades. Predeceased by parents Joe and Freeda (Wamsley) Anthony. Born in Cumberland, MD on April 2, 1947 and raised in Baltimore; Joe worked several jobs. He was an auditor for 7-11, a yacht builder for Owens Yacht Co. and also retired from Blackwater Falls State Park as his eyesight deteriorated.

He enjoyed hunting until losing his eyesight and then he enjoyed reminiscing about hunts with his son Stu and cousin Eddie Conway. Joe enjoyed telling stories about family, friends, hunting and the good old days. Joe enjoyed walking around the town of Bayard to talk to family and friends. Deena and Stu would like to thank the town of Bayard for caring for Joe. Joe also enjoyed taking care of the homeless cats of Bayard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the local animal shelter in Joe’s name and to carry out his legacy of caring for the homeless pets of Bayard.

Mr. Anthony’s request for cremation will be honored and cremated remains will be buried in the spring. There are no services scheduled at this time. C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is honored to be of service to the Anthony family at this time.
