Chad E. Sims, 26, passed away at 5:14 pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Wood River.

He was born on November 26, 1983, in Alton the son of Victor and Joan (McKinney) Sims. He married the former Ashley Austra on March 23, 2007, in Edwardsville, Illinois and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Brooklyn Sims at home, two sons: Tayson Austra Sims at home, Camren Sims at home, one sister: Amy Sims of Wood River, one brother: Craig Sims of Bethalto, three nieces: Keersten, Mikaela, Madelyn, one nephew: Brennan, his aunt and uncle: Mary and Mark Bohart of Alton and their children: Montana and Robert.

He was attending Lewis and Clark Community College majoring in exercise science. He loved Christ, music, and working out.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
