George F. Sullivan, age 87, went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home in San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 13 siblings and son, George W. "Billy" Sullivan.

George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Anne (Ramirez) Sullivan; children, Jeanette S. Sullivan, Julia A. Glenewinkel (Ronnie), Mary A. Jones (Mike), Michael A. Sullivan and Kathleen F. Mitchell (Adam), Robert Ramirez and his “doggie boy” Phineaus; grandchildren, Jason Waclawczyk (Crystal), Kathryn Davis (Rick), Chase Jones (Deandre), Carson Jones, Hayden Mitchell, Ben Jones, Jenny Sullivan, Ethan Mitchell, Emma Mitchell; great grandchildren, Carter Davis, Lane Davis, EllaClaire Waclawczyk and Billie Kirk.

He was born on August 5, 1933 in MacDonald, West Virginia to John and Sophia Sullivan. He was the youngest of 14 children. At the age 18 he joined the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War. For the next 30 years he worked for the Department of the Army in Civil Service where he received numerous awards for exceptional performance in communications.

After retirement he enjoyed traveling to visit family in Utah, California, and Ohio. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s various sports event and performances. George was a “jack of all trades” and could always figure out how to repair anything. He also loved cars, air shows, playing cards, woodworking, swimming, watching the West Virginia Mountaineers and Dallas Cowboys play and old Western movies.

George was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church for 44 years.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM-6 PM on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave., San Antonio, Texas.
