TRUMAN: A Private Family Graveside Service for Marie “Hanson” Peterson, 93, of Truman and formerly of St. James and Erskine, Minnesota will be held at a later time in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in rural Mentor, Minnesota.

Marie Rose Peppin was born on April 11, 1927 to Arthur and Pearl (Clement) Peppin in Red Lake Falls Township in Minnesota. She received her education in Red Lake Falls. In October of 1946 she was united in marriage to Edward Hanson in Mentor, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Erskine. Edward died on April 20, 1971. She later was united in marriage to Floyd Peterson in 1975. Floyd died in 1996. Marie moved into Crookston and later moved to Aldridge near Wadena. In 1996 she moved to St. James, Minnesota to be near her family. On October 11, 2015 she became a resident of Truman Senior Living.
She greatly enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and canning.
She is survived by her children, Keith (Marsha) Hanson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Thomas (Dawn) Hanson of Ormsby, Minnesota, Theresa (Lee) Stine of Newfolden, Minnesota, Rose (Gene) Hanson of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and son-in-law, Roger Firchau of St. James, Minnesota; 13-grandchildren; 8-great-grandchildren; 2-step-grandchildren; 6-step-great-grandchildren; 6-step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ce Peppin of Spanish Forks, Utah and Fran Peppin of Minneapolis, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearl Peppin; husbands, Edward Hanson and Floyd Peterson; daughters, Kathy and Fred Moser, Karen Rasmussen, Linda and Bruce Anderson and Wanda Firchau; brothers, Harvey Peppin and Donald Peppin; sisters, Lori and Jack O’Reily, Marilyn and Roland Brule; one grandchild and other relatives.
